Breckenridge/ITT Tech June 1014 Cohort

Published

Hi there! I was hoping to find more students that have been accepted to the June 1014 cohort. I'd like to get a study ( read emotional support) group together. Also, any current or former Breckenridge students can chime in on what to expect or give us some helpful hints. Go class of 2016!!!!

I have not been accepted or even taken the hesi yet but i want to lnow more info too on this school i am hoping to get in this fall!!

I know I did a lot of research before I chose this school. As far as the HESI there are a ton of great resources that you can find on this site. The school also has a really good study guide that you can purchase for $20. The same guide is like $35 on Amazon. You need at least a 75% to qualify. However, they grade in the favor of your math score. So if that is your weakest subject, study up! They do allow you to use the on-screen calculator which is nice. They take the top 30 scores and they notify you about 30 days before orientation. I know I took my test back in January and they had empty spots still available for March. In fact, they had spots open for March the Friday BEFORE classes actually started. But June filled up fast, and I would assume the same for Fall and January. So if you don't get into one of those try for March. I will say they were very good about explaining everything to me. I had sent the poor director of the program about 300 emails and she answered them all and even called me a few times to touch base and give me a heads up on what was going on. The classes are accelerated so expect A LOT of time studying on your own.

Thank you for the great info!! I will need to do some studying for the math (not my strong suite) how had the financial aid been for you?

I'm not gonna lie. It is expensive, but then you don't have to wait 2+ years just to get into school. The more pre-reqs you have completed the cheaper it is. I know all the books are included in the tuition as well. I can't remember about the uniforms, I think maybe two of them? All my pre-reqs were completed over 14 years ago so they couldn't take them ( I don't blame them, lol). My financial aid covered everything except like $2000, which they covered with their in-house scholarship. If you qualify for the government subsidized loans use those over private loans. A great math book I picked up as a good refresher was this one, All the Math You'll Ever Need Amazon.com: All the Math You'll Ever Need: A Self-Teaching Guide (Wiley Self-Teaching Guides) eBook: Steve Slavin: Books

If you are planning on continuing on to a BSN, their credits transfer. Walla Walla, and Texas Woman's University and two other options besides ITT Tech RN-BSN. TWU is a very inexpensive option. I will have more concrete info come June 10th. But I am happy to answer as much as I can. :)

Thank you so much for all of your helpful information! I appreciate it so much as I am super nervous! I will be studying up and thank you for the book recommendation :) checking it out now

No problem. And good luck! Let me know how it goes!
