I'm in level 1 nursing at a community college. we are having a breast/thorax validation soon. i'm quite nervous because i dont know what to expect. i heard the professors will ask us what we need to ask our patients and show how we would do it. anyone have any helpful hints/websites?

They haven't provided a demonstration for your class? I would think it would be kind of hard to validate on something that wasn't taught Do you have a nursing skills book? At the very least, that could give you some idea of what to do for that type of assessment.

what is a breast/thorax validation?? never heard of it

or heart/lung sounds? I'm sure they taught you how to auscultate...for us we had to physically auscultate heart/lung sounds on our partner and for heart sounds, for each location, we had to say "aortic, 2nd intercostal space, right sternal border; pulmonic, 2nd intercostal space, left sternal border..." etc etc etc.
For the breast, we had to physically do a breast exam on our partner, BUT we wore a breast vest
