Here is the inside scoop I heard from someone who works in the admissions office. I'd hate to break it to everyone but there are close to 100 people on the waitlist this year and most of them have chosen to also roll their applications to the DNP. The chances of anyone getting off of the waitlist is extremely low.
Also, the chances of getting into the DNP program is probably even lower. The reason why BC allowed waitlisted candidates to roll over to DNP is because this is the inaugural year of the DNP program and they were not sure how many applicants, if any, they'd receive. So to maximize the pool of candidates they could choose from, and give themselves the most choice and flexibility, they allowed the masters candidates to roll over to DNP. But the reality is even with more than a month to go before the DNP deadline, they have received hundreds of applicants already in addition to the close to 100 who rolled over from masters. This would make the DNP program even more competitive than the Masters. Also, the advantage goes to people who applied to the DNP program directly as opposed to those who rolled over from Masters simply because the direct DNP applicants will have interviewed more recently and will be fresher on admission committee's minds.

I wonder if being waitlisted gives us a better chance to get into the doctorate program?
