I was just wondering if any of you have come across any books written by experienced nurses about what it is like to be a nurse anesthetist. I think it would be a very interesting field to pursue. Thanks for any suggestions,

There is information on the AANA.com website about being a CRNA. The book "Watchful Care- A history of America's Nurse anesthetists is available to order from the bookstore at the site. I would recommend to all those applying to school to read it first and get a feel for the obstacles and challenges that nurse anesthetists have faced in the past---- for therein lie the roots of many of the challenges of today!

There is a good fiction book written by a CRNA about her experiences in Viet Nam. I am having problems remembering the name of the book or the author. I will see if I can find it. Maybe someone else on this forum will remember.
