I don't think you'll ever find an educational book that can be as exciting as a murder mystery. Some good books for the OR are Alexander's (pricey, but considered the gold standard), AORN's standards, guidelines, and recommended practices (also not cheap), and another option is Berry & Kohn's, which is actually one I like better than Alexander's as an introductory read for someone not yet working in the OR. You can read reviews on both current and past editions on Amazon.

I'm currently in nursing school, just got my lpn and am volunteering in central processing organizing trays.and.wrapping them. This is helping me learn a lot of the instruments.. butI'm looking for a book to get some more knowledge as an OR nurse. Ive got the pocket OR guide but it's a pretty boring read.
Any book ideas? I also just registered for aorn as a student so ill start doing their fee CE's too.
Thanks
