Can anybody tell me what a bone marrow suppression is? I can`t find the exact definition in any of my dictionaries...
I am a German nurse preparing for the NCLEX Exam.

Think back to what the bone marrow is used for...................
In order for many chemptherapeutic agents to be able to work, you need to decrease the defense mechanism around the cells that usually are protected by the white blood cells, etc.
I am unable to draw my picture here so please try and follow. You have an army that is trying to protect its castle. The cell that you are trying to treat is the castle. The only way to get to it is to break down the defense of the army. This is how the medications work....in a simplified form.
