BOLC Questions

Published

I am leaving for BOLC tomorrow :nailbiting: and I have a few questions. sorry if they are silly questions. I think I am overthinking things but it would ease my nervousness to have some answers.

When I get there to check on the very first day should I be in uniform? I've heard you have to be in PTs for height and weight but wanted to know if we will have time to put down our bags at the hotel and change beforehand. Will they give me a WARNO of some sort for the next thing I need to do?

Do do we have roommates? From what I've heard recent classes haven't but others have.

How do they conduct the APFT? Is it 1/4 mile loops, 1/2 mile loops, or a down and back? How do they know that you have completed the correct amount of laps? Do they use vest or do you call out for your grader when you pass them?

Again, I'm sorry for the silly question. I haven't received anything from anyone at BOLC. I just have my orders and the internet.

Thank you in advance.

To answer some of your questions: I think I was in PTs the first day, because we did height/weight at sign in. I checked into the accommodations on post first, but I also arrived a couple of days early. (It was 2011, memory is a bit fuzzy. :)) The track we used is across the street from the AMEDD Center & School (C&S) building, and I want to say it's a 1/2 mile track because I seem to recall 4 laps. My track at Ft. Stewart drove me nuts because it was a 1/4-lap track and I hated it. There is another mile long track, but we didn't use that one. If you look at Google Maps and switch to satellite view, you can see the various tracks — they are bordered by Dickman, Stanley, Worth, and Schofield Roads. We used the shortest route (I think; again, it's been a looooong time and I have seen many tracks since, haha). We called out to our graders as we passed them.

I had a roommate at BOLC, she is awesome. :)
