Also im in the liberal arts program is it going to be difficult to transfer to nursing?? Sorry if i have alot of errors but im just frustrated and reading about the nursing programs and how hard it seems its driving me insane..

Thanks for the help if anyone helps mee!

I am with you when it comes to frustration. I have been taking 4 semesters (including summer class) already at BMCC and it seems each semester I get road blocks one after another. I am also a liberal arts student and trying to finish micro and dev. psych this Spring and I thought I could enter the Fall evening program but surprise, surprise! Another new "Pre-Nursing Dept." rule just appear at Mr. S.' door in December stating that liberal arts students who want to transfer can only do so during 2nd week of January, 2nd week of June and third week of August. And before you can transfer you have to finish all pre-requirements needed.

Before you can apply for the morning program, you first have to finish taking the preclinical prereq's, which are ENG101, Mat104, Psy100 and BIO425 (AP1). For the evening program, you also have to finish aside from the four major prereqs, BIO426 (AP2), BIO420 (Micro), Dev't Psy (or SOC100) and ENG201. I believe for the morning you only have to get As for the four prereq's. I am not sure if they calculate the overall GPA (preclinicals prereqs plus general reqs) for the afternoon or if they just look at the major 4 prereqs as well. I still have to clear this up.

S told me that I cannot apply for the fall program since I can only transfer to preclinical from liberal arts by 2nd week of June and by that time, they already filled up the roster for the fall program. That means I have to twiddle my thumb and wait for Spring. Acceptance GPA right now by the way is 3.86 for morning and 3.77 for evening.

If you're taking the morning program (which is more advisable for those who can afford not to work full time), it will take 2 years to finish everything. For evening program, it will take approximately 3 years (including summer sessions) to finish everything including the prereqs.

To guarantee getting in, you need to get all A's in your prereqs as much as possible.

I hope this helps you. This board has been very helpful to me in navigating BMCC.
