Hi everyone! So, e-mails for exam schedule went out today! We are getting close. Creating this post for others that are scheduled to take it as well. When is yours? Good luck on studies!

Also, anyone know of any good microbiology professors?

im also 84 point something.

good luck!!

@Episkey hi, what was last years lowest ranking accepted?

@Jazz125

I read in the BMCC 2019 thread that the cutoff for the previous year was 83.38. Not sure what the lowest score for last semester was though.

P.S. For any of you wondering how to calculate your ranking score.

Take your GPA, divide by 4.0 (the max GPA you can get at BMCC) and multiply by 50.

Example: a 3.75 gpa and a 78% kaplan score.

3.7/4.0 = 0.9375

0.9375 * 50 = 46.875

Then take your Kaplan score, convert to a decimal and multiply by 50.

.78 * 50 = 39

Add those two scores together to get your ranking score.

46.875 + 39 = 85.875%

@Episkey thank you ?

Hi,

For those who scored higher than an 80 on the Kaplan, how did you study? I took the TEAS and that was way easier than the Kaplan. I will be honest since I scored high on the TEAS I walked out of BMCC feeling like crap after the exam.?

I also took the TEAS. I used the Kaplan study guide, and 2 different TEAS guides. I just kept taking the practice tests over and over again.

I actually scored similarly on both tests in Reading(95%/91.5%), Writing(86.6%/83%) and Math(100%/100%), but did way worse on the science section for the Kaplan (65%/78%). Maybe it had to do with the number of questions for each test? Like because there were more questions on the TEAS, each question was worth fewer points? Also each question is weighted differently or unscored altogether.

Which section(s) of the exam did you feel less confident in?

A 75, what screwed me over was writing. I couldn't believe it. There was this article about some ice or glacier over the Mississippi River or something. The math was easy and the reading was not bad, but the science I was shocked. How in the world are you supposed to know what heart rate a pt specifically has in the parasympathetic system is stimulated? there were choices as 70 HR, or 50 HR and something else.

I also felt less confident with the science portion as well. The style of the writing section was completely new to me, where we had to insert a specific line or what part of the paragraph would one of the choices be a good fit (apparently the college board SAT writing part is similar to this). My lowest scores were in the writing and the science section of the Kaplan. I will be honest though I didn't read the Kaplan book recommended since I took the TEAS around the same time as the Kaplan exam just 4 days before. I scored a 93 on the science TEAS and an 85 on the English.

I can't even remember how the SATs were... Mine too, writing was extremely confusing... and I had always heard this was harder than the TEAS.. now that I took this, I definitely see it. I barely, if at all, studied when I took the teas coz of the classes I was taking when I registered to take it but even with that, it was definitely easier.

Could also be that there are less num. of questions on the Kaplan so the weight distribution is very different too..

Either way, another week down.. We should be hearing hopefully by end of this to the end of next week..??
