Had a patient recently who had a stroke about 18 months ago, resulting in some mild left sided weakness. His blood pressure in his left arm was consistently 15-20 points higher than in his right. Is this related or coincidence? Can someone explain the patho of it to me?

[h=1]Different blood pressure in right and left arms could signal trouble[/h]
In older people, it's usually due to a blockage arising from atherosclerosis, the artery-clogging disease process at the root of most heart attacks, strokes, peripheral artery disease, and other cardiovascular conditions.
Thanks!
