Hi guys. I'm not a nurse but a paralegal. I'm a bit desperate due to a paramedic ( about 3 weeks ago) who had difficulty inserting an IV into my right hand's vein and blew it. He kept jabbing at it 4 or 5 times when no blood would come. It hurt like hell and I wish I had punched the guy now. As a result of this injury, my vein now leaks blood whenever I'm exercising at my pulse goes over 120. It's pretty scary so I stop immediately. I spoke to a couple of doctors about it and they act like there is nothing to worry about? But, more than one nurse has told me that I could have a clot there and should get an ultrasound. At present, my hand ( where the vein is) feels tight and so I know it's not yet healed. This has really detrimentally affected my life as I can no longer exercise and I have no clue when, if ever, this vein will heal? Please give me your insight. Many thanks in advance. Matlock
