That is the only way I can describe the practical tonight in A & P 1 !!
It was horrible !!!!
I studied EVERYTHING I was told to study...I can tell you where the Sella Tursica is...AND the Hyposeal Fossa that I was TOLD I needed to identify :angryfire!!!
I can differentiate the Jugular Foramen from the Corotid Canal..again that I was TOLD I needed to know ...BUT....none of that was on the test...INSTEAD, a TON of stuff that my handout DID NOT say I needed to know was there:eek:....the ROOM was quiet, like someone had just died ...the elevator out of class was worse , we all just looked at each other as if we just left a hand to hand combat battle...and our heads were hung !!!!
I am so frustrated and at a loss

I'm seeing quite a bit of this on the board tonight. I'm also guessing that quite a few people will be back to report that they got A's.
Don't assume the worst until you see your grade. You probably did fine.
thanks SunRay..but honestly....I really think I FAILED !!!! There was NO multiple choice at all, so thinking I had a 25 % chance of having the right answer is out of the question ! It was all fill in the blanks ! I studied the handout SO hard !!...my poor 6 yr old daughter has had my hands all over her for DAYS !!! She would be sitting on the couch and I would walk over, sit next to her and say " honey, let me rub your back" :redpinkheREALLY I wanted to feel her Scapula !!! poor girl !! I felt for her Acromonian, and then her Coracoid Process, not to be confused with the CoraNOID Fossa in her Humerous !!!! Then I went to the flat part of the ANTERIOR portion of her scapula and TRIED to remember that the SupRAscapular is high and anterior and the SUBscapular is LOW.... BUT WAIT !!! the Supraspinous is high as well, but the backside ( WAIT... POSTERIOR side:argue:),
Im Stuck...there is SO many new words !!!

Im doing a&p2 right now and I had to the same problem with my A&P1 Prof (who's known to be very tough) he would tell us what to study and even give us a study guide, but allot of the info we studied wouldnt be on the test. Many students would say that the tests were tricky and there were nights that I would come home from class sometimes in tears after a test feeling sooo unsure, and dissapointed:crying2: but it always turned out to be alright.
So after my first test I changed the way i studied, I started to study directly from my A&P book daily , even now in this class (with the same Prof, lol) I make sure I read the chapters. He's tests would be multiple choice and is set up like the way nursing tests are set up,all 4 seems correct but the 2 of the 4 are more correct but one answer is the preffered right answer.
A&P is a hard class but please dont give up, You can do it,just look at the way you study and adjust it if needed .

I totally agree with PurposebyDesign. Take this test and study what type of questions he asks on the test. If you feel his study guide is useless... don't go by it anymore. I've gotten all A's in my prereq classes, and I can tell you that how I studied for each class is completely different from each other!! Why? Because every teacher is different. There was a class where the study guide was a grain of salt. There were other classes where I used it as a bible. One class I would reread the chapters four times over and do the exercise questions constantly. Another class, I never even opened the book.
Everyone drills that you should always study according to how you learn. While that is true, I feel that you should always study according to how you will be tested. If you're not certain where your instructor gets his/her questions from...ask! Teachers love to go on an on about how they test, I noticed. And if you do poorly on a test that you studied hard for, don't think it's the end of the world. Change the way you study. You have the motivation and desire to do well and that's the first step which you already have. Now, just change your focus. I have done poorly on a couple tests (D's!) in certain classes, so I changed the way I studied and I ended up with A's in each of those classes. It can be done...don't give up!
...I am studying for the next test..
