BHCC spring semester 2015

Hello everyone,

I applied for the spring semester at Bhcc. I have a 4.0 GPA but a 66.5 on teas test.

Does anyone know if this is enough to get in? I am still waiting for the acceptance letter. Does anyone know when they will be sending them?

I also applied for the spring semester for the rn program. I asked someone who used to be on the committee for the nursing applicants. She said the TEAS is basically a pass fail test. As long as you meet the minimum score for BHCC your application stands. She said they use it only to rule out the people who cannot pass the TEAS. She said it does not matter if you got 100 or 70, as long as you meet the minimum BHCC requires. Have you checked your student profile? Mine used to say general concentration but now I noticed it says nursing program evenings with a Jan 2017 graduation date. I called the school and asked if this means anything in regards to my application, but all they would say is nobody has been accepted yet. Do you know if this means anything or have even heard of the profiles changing?

I don't believe that to be true (about the teas) before I got accepted into nursing, I applied to sonography. I had all the pre-reqs plus all of the non sonography classes done with A's and B's. I didn't do so well on the teas... (First time and didn't study much) But was still over the minimum required.. 68% Didn't get accepted. When I called to find out I was told to raise my teas. I was also told that with so many applicants, the teas is what they look at to differentiate.

But l will say that they change your profile upon acceptance.

Thank you for your response. I believe sonography may accept fewer students and be even more difficult to get into. I believe they only take ten people for cardiac sonography. How do you like the nursing program?

They do accept fewer students. 30 in total. I was heartbroken when I got the denial but now I am happy that I ultimately decided on nursing. So far, I'm liking it. A little scary at first but all in all, it is good =)
