Does anybody know when Bevill starts notifying students of acceptance? The wait is almost unbearable! :-)
I'm so glad to hear from someone who is being successful!. I'm am scared to death! I just want to be successful at becoming an RN. I know it will be very hard and prioritizing as we'll as organizing. I need encouragement. Any advice is appreciative. Any books that seemed to add textbook that helped explain and understand material.
I bought all the extra books (test for success, etc...) I personally never ended up using any of them. Your first semester you will be learning the foundation of nursing which you will build on throughout the whole program. Reading your chapters and understanding the material to where you feel comfortable being able to explain it is a must for good grades. I have watched several students fail because they just study the power points provided by the instructors which is just a BROAD, non detailed overview of the chapters. To be helpful try to make really high on your first couple of tests, they tend to be easier to get you used to the course. This way you can have a little breathing room when it comes to the final which counts 40% of the course average. Being on the fence going into finals is the worse feeling in Nursing school. I know it all seems over whelming but everything will fall into place once you start as long as you organize, prioritize, and set out time to study (Read your chapters!) I find it helpful to read one chapter a day. For example if we have a test on four chapters I take out a couple of hours each day for 4 days before the test to read each one and get a good understanding of the material. Try to relax before the semester starts, you don't wanna go in the first day already stressed out, take a deep breath and smile because you have made it this far and congratulations welcome to nursing school. You can do this, it's all about how bad you want it! Hope something in this post has been helpful and REMEMBER all those Extra studying tools are great and all but your best tool is your BOOK! It will always have the answer to every single question on your test in it......READ IT!
That is what I want to hear. Where to spend my time. In the book! I am LPN. I've been out for several years. Tried mobility on line in spring of 2012. I was not successful. A lot of reason for that but one was a lot info but no focus on what, I really want to finish my Rn degree. I hear some success but also not good ones. Not passing 200 was very devasting for me and scared me now. I feel I did what I could in 200 but did not how to figure out what to study, my computer was slow, ate my time. I knew no one to talk with and there was so much material to go over. I will say that I spent my time in PowerPoint and prep u and notes from modules. Not much time in book. I know going to class will be better. Starting from beginning will be better. Rebuild the foundation. I would love to keep in contact with you. Thank you.

My daughter is a senior in high school this year and I have noticed that everyone here is so honest about all the programs. She is a great student and we are hoping for some scholarship money. My question is...is the program at all of the campuses equal? She is really thinking about Hamilton campus and it may be a crazy question but is that program as highly regarded when looking for a job as it is if she goes to Sumiton? Thank you in advance for your honesty!
Usually an employer isn't as interested in what campus you went to but rather the level of degree you received and what college you attended. It being a junior college that would be an associates of applied science in nursing or ADN for short. If your college has a respected nursing program than that also helps with employment especially if you have done previous clinical work at the hospital you are seeking employment and acted professionally there. We have had multiple transfers that came from Hamilton campus to Fayette and with most of them being more pleased with the Fayette campus but everyone has their own opinion I'm not saying either campus is better than the other. I would suggest maybe looking at each campuses first time NCLEX pass percentage because that really what counts. As i previously stated though, in my opinion I don't think it is going to matter what campus you attend as far as getting employment because Bevill is viewed as a whole rather than by which campus you went too. I have taking several classes at Hamilton and Fayette and have really enjoyed both campuses, but I chose Fayette for my nursing program solely on the fact that it was a closer drive. Ever Bevill campus holds over a 90% nclex pass rate though which is what your whole college experience comes down to, passing the NCLEX to get licensed otherwise your degree is pretty much worthless.
