Hi all - I've been reviewing the boards here for a while and thank you all for your detailed responses and information left. This board is awesome and has really helped me calm my nerves with respect to the admissions process at Beth Israel in NYC.
My apologies if a thread of this nature already exists - (i couldn't find one) -- Just wondering if any 2012 applicants are out there?? I am applying to the evening session beginning in January 2012.
I've submitted my completed package and scored an 89th percentile AD on the NLN PAX. I took the computerized version and was able to get my scores back immediately. The anticipation would have killed me otherwise.
Anyway, I am eagerly awaiting a call or email from PBISON regarding the next step in the admission process which is the in-person interview. Fingers, Toes, and eyes are crossed!
Is anyone else out there applying for admission to the 2011/2012 entering class? Anyone further ahead in the process, perhaps you've had your interview already? I'm wondering how long to wait from the time I submitted my scores to the time of following up w/ the admissions board... I'm thinking 2 weeks is fair.?
Any comments welcome. Thanks in advance - and good luck!
Good luck to all, especially to our original poster, NikkiJo. Thanks for starting this thread. It's nice to see how much it's grown since the early days.
I completed my FAFSA and HESC a few days ago and am now waiting to see how much financial aid I'll get.
Last but not least, the majority of interviews are done in the months of April and May so hang in there!
argggh so bummed out today. contacted mg as per her previous notes advising to stay in touch w/ the school. her response basically read that the admissions committee has been reviewing apps and interviewing those who came in with excellent nln/hs and college gpas and impressive rec letters and essay. the full package, i suppose. i thought my essay and rec letters were outstanding. my gpa and college history is sketchy at best, and hs i did well but was again a bit jumpy. either way, mg basically told me that they are still reviewing apps this month and that "hopefully/fingers crossed" i'll be considered for the school... she also mentioned hoping for the best but preparing for (actually the word she used was "expect") the worst. it kinda broke my heart to read that.
i am gonna truck on as usual. but, am feeling a bit defeated today. gotta keep on keeping on. please, all, keep me posted on your progress to date. any more people get called in? any more interviews?
tell me, have any of you been successful in researching alternative evening programs for nursing in the nyc area? i haven't found many programs that impressed me but i welcome any of your opinions and experiences to date. please share.
thanks
HI EVERYONE... Im just wondering how many spots are left but I'm waiting for a call too. Previous post said to expect the worst at this point but I'm still optimistic and hopeful that I will at least get an interview. Does anyone know how many completed apps they have? I know all 1,000 didn't complete everything. Well, let's just all keep each other posted. Anyone get a phone call or update? And...congratulations to everyone who finished the app process! We all have hope still. Hang in there people! :)
people hang in there. I think this last meeting they had yesterday was the first of the decision meetings. I got in and I am both happy and nervous! I feel blessed to have finally been accepted after all the studying and applying. I wish you all the best! I think I will be doing Atop but cannot decide if I should instead to do evening. earlier i posted what i scored on the test-but i think my essay and commitment to doing well really helped me. lets all keep in touch in this adjusting process.
