Hi all - I've been reviewing the boards here for a while and thank you all for your detailed responses and information left. This board is awesome and has really helped me calm my nerves with respect to the admissions process at Beth Israel in NYC.
My apologies if a thread of this nature already exists - (i couldn't find one) -- Just wondering if any 2012 applicants are out there?? I am applying to the evening session beginning in January 2012.
I've submitted my completed package and scored an 89th percentile AD on the NLN PAX. I took the computerized version and was able to get my scores back immediately. The anticipation would have killed me otherwise.
Anyway, I am eagerly awaiting a call or email from PBISON regarding the next step in the admission process which is the in-person interview. Fingers, Toes, and eyes are crossed!
Is anyone else out there applying for admission to the 2011/2012 entering class? Anyone further ahead in the process, perhaps you've had your interview already? I'm wondering how long to wait from the time I submitted my scores to the time of following up w/ the admissions board... I'm thinking 2 weeks is fair.?
Any comments welcome. Thanks in advance - and good luck!
Spoke to PBISN and they told me not to worry, they moved the financial aid deadlines to a later date and wont start deciding who gets what till at least, next week. Anyone here signed up for the three year program and know any important dates (registration, orientation, fittings....?) :)
Hi all,
As a current student at PBISN (Trad 1 - 2 year program), hopefully I can answer some of your questions.
LadyNurse, I don't know anything about LIU, but I can tell you that PBISN is a great program. Everyone pretty much knows everyone else as it's a small program and the faculty is great and really seems to care about the students' well being. If you are concerned about having an ADN vs a BSN, you might not need to rule at PBISN because the school is currently under review to become a BSN program. I believe the dean said we should know in the fall sometime if accreditation to become a college is approved. The program is very tough, however, but you I'm sure you will definitely feel prepared to go into nursing after you graduate.
Feliciaa, the scrubs are dark blue with white pants and you can download the academic calendar (without a student login I believe) at http://www.pbisnonline.org.
Hope this helps!
Orientation for level 1 students is August 23 and 24th. Classes being the following Monday.
Maria Gallo who answers calls is out until next week. I believe you'll get an invoice at orientation with the amount of tuition due (they usually give you a few weeks), but they usually send stuff out in the beginning of August if I remember correctly...
If I haven't recieve a letter or call for interview does that mean i didnt get accepted.I took my exam in january recieve 76 composite AD and I applied to the evening/weekend program.
I would call and ask. If this year isn't the year, they will let you know why and how to make next year the year:). Use my situation as inspiration. It took me a few years, but everything worked out in the end and it's been well worth the wait. I know I was very disappointed last year when I didnt get in, but after working hard and raising my GPA a considerable amount I got in and it worked out to my benefit with my life's plan. :hgu::hgu:

Well it depends if you want a bs in nursing or an adn, and of course money wise LIU is more pricey.
