Best way to bsn

Published

Hello!

I have a few concerns with Starting School all over! I will be relocating to Charlotte,North Carolina. My mother relocated and my entire family has moved because of her promotion! I want to start working on my BSN! I have some concerns of my previous college experience, I don't want to use the grades and its been a long time. Should I put my transcript from other college that I attended. I want to be able to get into a school and I am afraid of being judged when I was not taking school seriously. Also Any suggestion on the best paths to take to get my BSN in Charlotte.

You must complete prereq's before starting your BSN and they must have been completed within the past 5 years. If you need to retake the prereq's in order to raise your GPA , then do so.

thank you for the information.

I think it's required when transfering to another university that you must give them all of your transcripts at every college institution you ever attended. But ultimately it's up to you if you choose not to provide them with that information, though if you get caught it may jeopardize your admission status to the school. So be careful and speak with your school admissions to see what are your chances of getting into their program with a previously low gpa because only they can tell you.

This depends on your school policies. Mine doesn't care how old the classes are.

OP, you really do have to disclose all your previous course work. There are national databases that have transcripts and if you withhold the information and get caught, it will reflect poorly on you.

I recommend taking the prerequisites you need at a community college, then transferring into a four year program.

Good luck.

I have some friends who while they were in their BSN programs took a class or two at their local community college over the summer. They didn't pass so they just never sent their BSN program those bad transcripts, and now they're graduated and nothing bad ever happened from them not sending those transcripts. The only thing I think it would effect is any financial aid you would be receiving.

There situation is a little different then yours because they were already enrolled in their BSN program, and you're trying to get into a BSN program. I will also say that I have seen some BSN programs where on the applications it says you must include ALL undergraduate transcripts, in which case if they found out you didn't send all of your transcripts you could get into trouble.

Overall I would read the application carefully and when in doubt call the school and ask, you can even do so anonymously if you so choose.
