I'm getting ready to choose my top three areas for transitions, which is a huge deal because a majority of students from my program get job offers from their transition site/preceptors.
I absolutely loved L&D and mother/infant, but as you know, everyone else did too and there are only a few spots there for 60 of us. I'm fully prepared to end up somewhere else, get experience then apply into the L&D unit directly assuming I get a job offer from my transitions.
Do any L&D or mother/infant nurses have any suggestions on what types of units I should put in my top 3? Med/surg? Peds is also a hot commodity so the NICU is unlikely. Thanks for reading this massively long post!
