best nursing school for accelerate BSN

Published

Hi, I'm Alda from Indonesia. I plan to take nursing school in the Philipine, to take BSN through accelerated program (I heard that the program only takes 2 years to get the BSN, is that true?) and then take the NCLEX-RN exam so I can work as a nurse in US..

My questions are :

1. Which nursing school in Philipine is best or suitable for that purpose? please give me your suggestions.

2. How much approximately does it cost?

3. where can I take the NCLEX-RN exam? can I take in Philipine?

I don't have much fund to do this, since I should quit my job if I wanna study in Philipine, but I do wanna have good nursing education too. So would you please give me advise about which school is best for my purpose.

Thank you for your help.

You are looking at about five years for a chance at a visa for the US so attending school in the Philippines is not going to get you a vis right away for the US. And be aware that the Philipines do not have accelerated programs as you are thinking that they are, they have what they ca,, second courser programs, and that means that you already have a Bachelor's degree in another field.

You are not going to be able to work in the Philippines while you are in school as you will not have a visa that will permit that. And you are going to need to complete the full program there which is going to be five years for you, they are all being increased by a year by the time that you would be in the program there.

You may wish to reconsider what you want to do at this time as even with attending nursing schookl in the US, it is no longer guaranteed that you would be able to remain here to work.

so, do you think it's not a good idea for me to study nursing in Phillipine? do you have any suggestion where or how I could study nursing so later I can work abroad? btw, I already have Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from university in Indonesia...

Thank you for your suggestions...

I would not advise studying there, as it is no longer going to be two years, the government has increased the training time and has added on a year.

You would be better off getting your training directly in your country, so that you could work while you are in school. Getting training overseas is not going to make things any faster for you in terms of getting a visa to work overseas.

Thank you, Suzanne :) at least now I know it's not a good idea to study there :)

You are quite welcome.
