Hi everyone!
I just purchased an iPad and I'm looking for a good note taking (typing) app to install. I'm considering the following apps: Notability, Goodnotes, and Evernote. I heard that notability doesn't have much variety when it comes to fonts and colors. Also, I read reviews about Evernote regarding people losing their notes. I'm wary to install it because I'd hate to have that experience. Any advice/suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :)

Good day, ElizabethH736:
I've been using Evernote now for a few years with multiple operating systems -- Windows, Android, and now IOS (my first iPad). All my notes are fine (not a single note or character of a note lost in years of use). I currently have 3,071 notes in Evrernote; and that # goes up throughout the month. I enjoy being able to sync between multiple devices. I can pull up notes on my Samsung Galaxy S3, my PC, or my iPad. That stated, I use Evernote mainly for note keeping vs. note taking (it can work for note taking, but that's not how I use it).
The reason I don't use Evernote for note taking is that typically the source documents have been hand written (pre iPad) that I would scan into Evernote or attachments that I would bring into Evernote. I would not type in class to take notes; at least, not at the current college I'm attending.
For me, my note taking "go to app" has become Goodnotes for annotating documents (turn on the shape recognition tool and the annotations look very professional) and taking notes with a stylus (hand writing). Now, for pure typing based apps among the "note taking" apps, Notability is excellent (I wish Goodnotes would copy the feature set for typing). Both of these apps can backup to DropBox, Google Drive, and others.
Thank you.

I love Evernote, too, and have no experience with the other options. I do use "Documents to Go," which uses Word documents. I can also use Excell and Power Point documents with Docs 2 Go.
On another note, please do not use your own photo as an Avatar. Sooner or later, you're going to post something that is more controversial than you expected, that is negative or ignorant or just not nice. When that happens, you're not going to want your fellow students, instructors or the dean of your school to immediately identify you. Using your own name as a username isn't a good idea, either. This isn't FaceBook. I'm not so ignorant as to believe that what I write here is totally anonymous, but anonymity is the goal we're striving for here.
I'm well aware this isn't Facebook. And you are the one posting something negative and unkind. There are plenty of other people on here who choose to use their own photo. Probably because those people and myself know we won't post something ignorant, negative, or unkind. I don't post things on here very often anyways and I barely even use my Facebook account. I understand the point you are making. However, it doesn't apply to me. I've never said an unkind, ignorant, negative or controversial thing on this site. Because I know better.
