Best Long Term Care Facilities in Portland?

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering what your opinions are about the best long term care facilities here in Portland.

I'm going to do some cna work and have heard bad things about Avamere and Marquis centers...although I visited a Marquis center and thought it seemed fine.

Anyone know much about Maryville in Beaverton, or Friendship House?

Thanks for any suggestions. I'm willing to drive farther for a better facility.

Maryville is on the bottom end of the payscale for CNAs and CMAs, although their nurse pay (especially LPN) is quite generous.

The facility itself is kept up well, and the CNA staff is probably average, which in reality means generally unpleasant. If you live within 20 minutes of Maryville, I would recommend it for evening or night shift work (day shift is abysmal). If you live farther than that, you should look for a different facility, since many pay better than Maryville anyways. Maryville *always* has CNA openings.
