Best Hospitals in South Florida to work for?

Specialties Critical

Published

Im a RN, BSN of 8 yrs from MO who has been specializing in ICU. My family and I will be moving in April to Fort Lauderdale or Orlando, Fl. My husband is currently in Orlando working but thinks it might be better to raise our small children in Fort Lauderdale. I have currently been making $43.70 an hour full-time and need advice on which hospitals in Fort Lauderdale or Orlando treat their employees the best. Im not just referring to salary, but also Company Insurance ( I have 2 year old boy who lives on Wild side and is likely to fracture a bone in the future) and etc. Also would it be better to go full-time at a Hospital or should i do travel nursing and if so which company would you refer?

Sorry. I'm still stuck on the part where you are in Missouri and make $43.70 an hour. I was going to say where in the world, but where in the state can you do that? I haven't seen salaries like that in the KC or StL areas. The ICU nurses I know at that experience level are hitting the mid to high twenties an hour.

Good luck with your future move.

HI i live in kc and my hospital was paying $50.00 hour for Agency in ICU bc we where short staffed so i gave my 2 week notice and quit. They called and i named the price if they wanted me to return and they paid it. i know its not typical pay, but i defiantly feel I was better then the agency nurse and quiet frankly was insulted people with less experience then myself where making more money. Also my hospital was paying $38.00 hr for pulmonary unit so i took my chance and it paid off.

Nurse Please know your worth... I have taken a pay decrease by accepting a Full-time position at a southern Florida Hospital, However i am still making over $40.00 an hour. Before i was given the offer i had to submit and they verified my past employment pay. As for the negotiating part I have to give a big Thank you to Ryan at the Agency.
