Hello All! I am a nurse from the New England area looking to relocate to the Los Angeles/Oceanside/San Diego area. Looking I have over a year experience and I am ACLS certified. Any suggestions? Thanks!

It is very hard to find a job in LA or San Diego as a nurse right now, I would not suggest you to move here until u get an offer.

Do you have BSN?

I suggest you contact a travel nurse company and get in that way, especially with a year of experience. I came here with 2 years of experience and couldn't find any full time jobs. I had offers for per diem, but decided to get a travel contract. There are so many staff nurses in the area here who came on as travelers first, and then made connections and got a staff position. Good luck!

UCLA Medical Center and Kaiser Permamente are great hospitals, if you can get in. The previous posters are correct, the market is tough right now out here, you can't always afford to wait out for the best hospitals, you have to accept what you can get. Good luck!

Travel nursing, definitely. You're looking at about 250 miles with hospitals on every street corner - let the agency do the searching for you!
