best drug cards for clinical?

Published

Hi there, I'm a senior nursing student and I really need to find a good set of drug cards that I can put in my pocket and have with me throughout the day in case the instructor asks about a med I'm giving. We already have these researched in our care plan, but sometimes I forget in the craziness of the day. Do any of you have any suggestions or favorites that have been helpful to you during the clinical day?

Thanks! :)

I've never used them, but I've had a classmate swear by Mosby's.

For myself, I use Epocrates on my Palm T/X if I have to look anything up in clinical.

Get a PDA and load Epocrates free drug program on it. It will save you so much time and it is all right at your finger tips. Also sew some velcro on your scrub pocket to keep it from going flying!:chuckle

I use a palm pilot too - but I also have a little index card size 2 ring binder. All the drugs I have had to look up are on index cards - and then they go into the binder. I kept that with me until I updated this year to a palm.

The best ones are the ones you make yourself, because you will remember the info better. I carry a drug guide to clinicals. Seems to be the easiest options (plus it's required...LOL).
