Best company to work for in Florida

Published

I am looking into leaving the hospital and going back into LTC or rehab nursing because the schedule may be better for me and I have had a back injury and can not continue to work in the ED or don't think I can. Well my question is I have good benefits at the hospital and I need them as I have issues and have kids to insure and need the benefits medical and dental what company in Florida is the best I live in central florida.

If you live in Tampa I'd say Moffitt. I love it here and don't dream of going anywhere else. I am outpatient and only work 4 days during the week and NO weekends! No LTC though.

Hi @DowntheRiver

I just applied to the residency program for the ambulatory oncology clinics at Moffitt, I wanted to see if you had any advice or information regarding the program and/or the outpatient clinics? Do you enjoy your job? How is the level of stress?

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for at least an interview, I am applying from out of state though so I'm not sure if I'll have any luck. Any information you could share would mean the world to me!

It was OK. I ended up leaving not too long ago, sick of the commute. If you relocate down here just FYI the traffic can be brutal.

Interviews are often peer interviews and ask you what you would do in this or that situation. Like, "tell me about a time where you disagreed with a co-worker and how you handled it."

They like it if you come prepared with questions. Not questions like "what is the uniform?" but questions about projects, committees, getting involved, EBP you've seen in the past, etc.

@DowntheRiver thank you so much for your reply and advice! I really appreciate that. Hoping to find something a little less stressful but have been scared to make the jump.

@linkinBSN have you heard back from Moffitt?

@bsnandbeyond I have not, did you apply? If so what position/unit if you don't mind me asking? I don't know much about the company but excited to learn more

@linkinBSN same position actually
