I am fascinated by them and if there were a degree in them, I would likely go for it. I think knowing both sides is not only interesting but would be helpful as a nurse. I've read pretty much everything the WHO and CDC have put out!
Are there any books that are recommended for learning more about it? I'm open to books on both ends of the spectrum - both for and against.

History of Anti-vaccination Movements â€" History of Vaccines
Amazon.com: Deadly Choices: How the Anti-Vaccine Movement Threatens Us All eBook: Paul A. Offit M.D.: Kindle Store
The first link gives a great historical background of anti vaccination movement.
The second book explains pretty much everything in the vaccination debate and debunks all the myths while explaining where many of those myths come from.
