Best book for FNP boards

At the moment i got the Fritzgerald 4th edition. Is that enough if i really study the book page by page?

Fitzgerald's book is an ok resource if you plan to take the AANP. If you're planning to take the ANCC exam then you need to include other resources to help you freshen up on the legal/ethical/cultural aspects and implications of nursing practice. A significant amount of the ANCC questions are based on these things and the answer options are close so you really have to understand them, and there are enough of them on the test that if you don't get most of them right there's a pretty good chance that you will not pass. The ANCC test also has a number of select all that apply questions and a lot of picture questions that ask you to identify the condition and appropriate intervention. It sounds hard but it is not. What they test you on is mostly the BASIC and more common things that you will likely encounter as a beginning clinician. The cases they present for you to diagnose and treat will be mostly classic textbook stuff where the patient has symptoms or diagnostics that provide very obvious clues about what the condition is. ANCC also loves skin and eye conditions in their picture questions, and that's all I can say without saying too much about the exam.

When I was studying for boards I went whole hog with these prep books and courses. I bought a lot of them. I also went to Leik's course, I went to Fitzgerald's course, and I went to Barkley's course. In retrospect, I feel quite foolish for spending all that money. In my opinion, the Fitzgerald resources were the least helpful because she goes on and on and on and into depths that are excellent for learning in general but not really necessary to prep for boards. Barkley and Leik are both good, but if what you want is just one book then the one I would recommend is Leik's book, but for the review content only because some of her questions are questionable. Just remember what I said in the previous paragraph about reviewing the ethics and legal stuff if you plan to take the ANCC.

Wow, thank you so much for the time and knowledge! Ok imma get that leik book too
