Best ADN program in San Diego?

There are many ADN programs here but many of them have year(s) long wait lists. Some that I know of are grossmont, city college, miracosta (i think)).. and I dont really know any more. Im more familiar with the BSN programs such as SDSU (my school), PLNU, San Marcos, and what not.. I suggest you look at the BRN website for a complete list of accredited programs in san diego.

Quite honestly, I suggest you go straight to the BSN program. They basically have the same requirements as the ADN programs but its not based on a waiting list, so I got right in when I applied. You can apply for financial aid if money is the issue...

Ooh I totally forgot about this thread.

Your idea about BSN sounds better by the minute. Why sit on a waitlist for 2-3 years when I can finish a BSN in the same amount of time, especially when I have so little info about the ADN programs.

Any advice on which BSN program to attend? I already have a bachelor, so SDSU is not an option because they aren't taking 2nd bachelor students right now. PLN looks good but I would prefer not to take out a huge student loan.

if you already have a bachelor's you can apply for the accelerated BSN program....CSU-San Marcos has one, but it's kinda intense and expensive....I'm in their generic program right now so I can answer some questions bout the school, or get u in contact with someone in their accelerated program

Thanks, I am consindering the CSUSM accelerated program. Any info would be helpful...here or PM is fine. But mostly, do you like it there and how are the instructors? Is it true that the accelerated program is only in Temecula now? If so, are they doing clinicals in Temecula too? What about the generic program, where do you guys do clinical?

I went to Mira Costa and it was good for me as I am a big golfer so on weekends I could go golfing at The Lodge at Torrey Pines.

They are all decent programs just look for one near where you would want to live.

Also I forgot to add that near the area where all the Del Mar Hotels are located is a great little program, the name eludes me right now but I see it on my way to work so I will check it out and post back.

The community colleges in San Diego County run top notch nursing programs but they all do have very long wait lists, so like you said just do BSN, esp if you already have a degree :) That's already a lot of work done! Good luck and keep us posted on where you decide to go.
