Belmont University ABSN Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello!

I wanted to start a thread for all potential/accpeted Belmont ABSN fall 2019 students. I was accepted this last week and would like to hear about other experiences with belmont.

Ditto to what MoonShin3 posted! I was accepted to Belmont’s accelerated program for Fall 2020. I would love to hear from former/current BU nursing students on their experience! Any info would be appreciated. Thank you.

I'm a current ABSN student at Belmont (I started Fall 2019). So far I really do love everything about it! For the most part all the professors are there for you and will try to help you in whatever way possible. This Summer is where the real accelerated part of the program begins, but I know they do everything they can to help get you through it. If you have any specific questions feel free to reach out! And maybe I'll see you around campus!

Thank you for your reply Nicolelent! That is great you like the program so far. So do you think the program is worth the money then? That is something I’m struggling with honestly because I know I have the option to choose another program that is less money. Belmont is definitely on the pricier side but I do love Nashville and I feel it would be a great experience to go to Belmont and be in a new place I love.

Hi guys! Just thought I would throw out my two cents.
I was accepted into Belmont’s 2019-2020 program. One of my good friends had been in the cohort previously and said she absolutely loved it, as well as the area. She was able to find affordable housing with other students and had a good experience. That being said, it definitely is higher in cost.

I chose to go to Villanova’s ABSN program that starts in May. The price is half of Belmont’s, and honestly I don’t think I could have made a better decision. This program WILL make you the best nurse that you can be. The school itself creates a real sense of camaraderie.

So, ultimately I would say if you're confident that the other school is good (helpful professors, good resources, you like the area, etc.) then I'd go with the cheaper option! Belmont worked best for my husband and I when we were making this decision, so the money was a second priority. I do think you should spend some time in Nashville if that interests you, but you can always do that later on when you're a nurse! I hope some of that helped!

Thank you both for your comments AKnursingstudent and nicolelent! It’s a relief to hear that current students enjoy Belmont’s program. I hadn’t been able to find current nursing student testimonials for the program while searching online.

Villanova sounds like a good place to be, beautiful campus as well! I would totally give it a shot but I am aiming to start a program no later than this fall and my Microbiology class ends in May-so unfortunately May start dates won’t work for me.

Nashville is such a fun city. I’m actually coming into town tomorrow night. I’m going to go to Belmont’s campus Friday to walk around. Fingers crossed the weather permits. I think physically being on campus will help with my decision making.

Hi! I know this is an old thread but I applied fort Fall 2020. Could anyone who was accepted talk about when y’all heard back about your acceptance and also what your GPA, grades, etc. was like? Thanks!!

Hey fmp98,

Regarding Belmont's fall 2020 accelerated nursing program, I got my acceptance around January 14th. My undergrad GPA was a 3.7 and for all my pre-requisites I have As. I also have a good amount of hospital volunteering. I'm not sure if that was a contributing factor for my admission. I accepted admission a week ago. Let me know if you have anymore questions!

Thanks so much! I actually just found out today that I got in!! ?

fmp98,

That’s awesome! CONGRATS! Are you going to accept?

ahh thank you! I'm not sure... I'm waiting to hear back on another school. I also want to visit in person but being from CT and corona running the world at the moment isn't helping much! I honestly feel like I don't know enough about the program to be able to commit!

I totally understand, fmp98. It is a big decision to make. I was lucky enough to visit the campus right before everything started shutting down! It is an awesome place and everyone is so friendly. I really enjoyed my tour. I would connect with Lauren Lauzon, the assistant director of admissions for nursing at Belmont if you have any questions. You may have already, but her email is [email protected]. She can probably also provide you with recordings from Q and A sessions about the campus, with professors, and with current nursing students that have recently taken place. All the best on your decision and maybe see you on campus if you do accept!

Thank you! I've been in contact with her and attended the info session online yesterday which was so helpful. Ah I just want to go in person but I can't do anything but wait it out at this point! I'll def ask for recordings of those things though! The thought of finding somewhere to live is stressing me out!
