Being friends with residents on Facebook

Are any of you friends with residents on Facebook? I am not but have noticed that some of my Facebook friends are friends with a resident at a facility I used to work at. I know this particular resident. She's long term, young, and likes to cause trouble. I really have a problem with this. Any comments?

Absolutely not, when it comes to current or former patients or family members.

It's a bit grey, IMO, when it comes to family members of discharged patients. Sometimes strong bonds can develop, so I try not to judge but I also don't do it.

I've communicated very professionally and with as few words as possible via the messenger function when family members have reached out to update me over the years, but even that makes me nervous.
