Being arrested a couple times 10 years ago
I am currently in my last module as an LVN student in CA, I am about to graduate in April or May 2021. I just got an email from my school saying that I need to do a Livescan fingerprint. I had my background check and the school hasn’t mentioned anything to me about my past. But I am worried that when I do my Livescan they will see everything. I have been arrested in 2011 for obstruction of justice/resisting an arrest (unlawful arrest)I felt harassed by the police, it was really nothing too serious but tried to fight it in court with a public defender but I just took a deal and followed a court order and I also had a minor arrest with a little bit of marijuana and the charges were dropped.I know I’ve made some bad decisions in the past , its been 10 years ago and I am worried , What should I do? I want to be able to take the NCLEX after I graduate and I really want to be a nurse. I am almost done with school. Should I talk to someone from the school , like the VN program coordinator about my situation, who should I speak to , so I can get some answers, I want to talk to the school , but I feel like the staff member might gossip about it? Will this stop me from being an LVN? I would like to be able to handle the steps needed or whatever it takes ahead of time, so I can take the NCLEX after graduation. I do not think I was convicted from my arrests. I am so stressed out. Help ☹
