I've got an international bachelor's degree in marketing & I've recently decided to make the move into getting my RN. I'm looking in the Boston area to get started. However I can't find online anything or anywhere that seems to help me get started as a student. I've tried numberous times to find colleges & private institutes but all seem to require an RN degree.
I need recommendations.......
Where can I go to get started with my career in nursing?
What preq's will I need before I can get enrolled in the RN program?
I've heard you can get your VN license, get a job(less pay) & finish your RN as you gain experience in the industry. Is this true? Is this recommended?
How do you get a VN license?
As you can see I'm awefully "green" with knowledge in the nursing education field but I'm driven & being from foreign eductaional systems this can be REALLY CONFUSSING. Any informationyou could offer would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks~

You are required to take prereqs like Anatomy and Microbiology along with math and english but you may have those done if you already have a degree. If I were you I would just call the school closest to you and make an appointment with the nursing adviser to see what prereqs you would be required to take for their program and just start plugging away at them.
It is common for the programs to have waiting lists and the process to get accepted sometimes requires a CNA certification and an entrance exam.
Hope this helps a little...
