I'm a Licensed Practical Nurse in British Columbia, and for the life of me, I can't find any evidence that the British Columbia Nursing Union exists...
Of all the job posts I've found online, none of them seem to make any mention of the union, and neither do the jobs posted by organizations like Fraser Health, Provincial Health Services Authority, the LPNABC, etc.
Coast Mental Health makes mention of the 'HSA - Nurses Bargaining Association' in their open positions, and there are some news articles about some controversy regarding BC Corrections and Chiron Health Services being overtaken by the Provincial Health Services Authority, and the Hospital Employees Union losing LPN's to the BCNU, but that's about all I've been able to find.
Apparently there's also the British Columbia Government and Service Employees Union (BCGEU) representing nurses? I haven't seen them on any of the job boards either... just how many nurses unions are there in this province?
I'm a recent graduate, working two casual positions at the moment (neither of which are unionized), but my goal is to get my foot in the door of the union and find myself a part time or full time job, preferably in Corrections, Harm Reduction, Outreach, etc.
The union itself gives no option on their website to join them or to browse job openings with employers that have entered into an agreement with them (though they do have a few jobs available working for the union itself, as a representative).
Does anyone know where I can find LPN jobs covered by the BCNU?

Any hospital nursing job in bc with the health authorities will be covered by bcnu. I don't think I've ever seen it noted in the postings
Ah, well that's good to know, thank you.
