BC Nursing Schools Fall 2017

Published

Hey everyone,

I have just applied to a couple different nursing programs in BC. Specifically, Camosun, VIU, NIC, and CNC.

I was wondering what everyone's admission averages are when applying to these programs?

Currently, I have an 83% average with Biology 12 (88%), Pre-Calculus 11 (90%), Chemistry 11 (67%), and English 12 (85%).

Right now, I am upgrading my Chem 11 mark and hopefully i'll get an A so I can bring my average up to at least 87%. Are these marks competitive enough to get in?

Hi there!

For VIU, the website lists "Please note that the average GPA of students accepted is an "A" to "A+", based on the 4 prerequisites required for admission to the Program." For Camosun, the average GPA last year was a 7.0 out of 9.0, so you are right in that range. I'm not sure about any of the colleges in Northern BC...does anybody know the average GPA needed to get in?

That is very reassuring. I just really want to get into a program for next September! Are you in a program right now? If you are, what was your average when you were accepted?

I completed the pre-reqs for the Douglas nursing program, but since it's going to take a while to get in, I am applying to other nursing schools around BC

That's awesome! What schools are you applying to? I hope you get in :)

Which program would be your first choice?

Which program would be your first choice?

My first choice is Camosun. I really like their program and i want to live in Victoria. My second choice is VIU because it's close to home aka Vancouver. Third choice is NIC since i can transfer to VIU in the future if i want to -- but their program seems quite good as well. My absolute last choice is CNC because i don't want to live in PG! I would apply to schools in Vancouver but they are way too competitive and i haven't completed any university courses yet.
