Has anyone applied for Baylor’s Distance ABSN starting Spring 2022? I just had my phone interview yesterday and they said I should have a decision by the end of the month (July 2021). Crossing my fingers!
Hi, I also have an interview with UH on Friday. I was accepted into Baylor... they do have rolling admissions which includes an interview. I am not sure if they are at capacity yet for the program. It is worth it to apply at least. It is more expensive than UH. I am hoping the interview goes well with UH because that program would be more convenient for me.
Would you be able to give us an idea of what days and times the distance courses are held? Did you complete clinicals exclusively on weekends? I know this will likely vary, but we haven’t really been given an idea of what to expect at this point. Congrats on being close to completion! ??
Sorry I'm still learning how to reply to comments haha. I only just now joined all nurses to get info on residency programs. You'll typically have a full day of zoom lectures once a week. Typically like 9am and 1pm and then poster conference meetings once you start clinicals. No set days for clinicals, it depends on when your preceptor/site wants students. It could be weekends and it could not be. It could be night shift and it could be not. This program is tough and you have to be very flexible with them and stand your ground. I am an 4.0 student and it was still rough for me. Hoping COVID calms down soon for y'all- because that is the cause of a lot of issues. It's hard to get into speciality areas right now because Baylor won't let us work with COVID patients.
@hopefullnewgradthanks for sharing your experience?. I’ve been accepted into two programs definitely tore between the two. Are they organized? How was your experience visiting the campus in Dallas for those 2 weeks? Thanks

Very disorganized and the placement team for clinicals is rude and gaslighting. The clinical placements are a mess and almost always disappointing. The programs is truly not worth the money other than having a degree that says "Baylor" on it. The only good part was being able to meet my classmates. I've made forever friends with them.
