Bay area Absn programs

Published

Hi all!

I'm currently exploring ABSN programs in Northern California and could really use some guidance. I have a BA in Architecture but I'm looking to transition into nursing.

I spoke with someone from Unitek who recommended enrolling in their LVN-to-RN bridge program, but I'm unsure if that's the most efficient path—especially since my goal is a BSN and ultimately becoming an RN as quickly as possible.

I still need to complete prerequisites like Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, and Chemistry. I've heard community college waitlists can be long, so I'm wondering if anyone knows of programs (ideally accelerated or flexible) that allow me to complete those prereqs and move directly into an ABSN?

Any advice or personal experience would be really appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hi I'm meeting with Unitek next week, she said she wanted to discuss my options since I have a non-nursing bachelors. I'm curious why they suggested LVN-to-RN bridge for you? Are you already an LVN, or were they proposing that you complete their LVN program and then the bridge program?
