Anyone applying for this?

I will be interviewing on the 2nd. Have not picked a site yet buy leaning towards South Florida. Anyone else interviewing that day?

I had actually initially chose South Florida, and had Orlando as my second but got Orlando. Such is life!

Hmm interesting... I wonder if there are any spots left in South Florida? It is pretty late in the application process. West Palm Beach is my second so we will see.

That's awesome! Good for you. Is anyone familiar with the Orlando site or have any information on it? I do not know anyone who went through Orlando. Also, is everyone from Florida or relocating to Fl?

I had seen some good and bad things written on this site, like that it was super busy, that they dont give their students a lot of time to study other classes, but then also that they have a simulation lab and or the main professors it something making students drive back and forth who are at the different sites. Don't know how true it is, but that's what i've read.

I'll be relocating myself, I live in GA right now, how about you?

So I actually work at two places. Florida Hospital (Adventist University site) and ORMC (Barrys Orlando Site). and I hear mixed reviews all the time. I hear ADU is "easier" going on their students, but what they mean by that is SUPER vague and I think its up to the student who says that. I hear they have good exposure to all sorts of cases and types of anesthesia used. And that is all ive heard about that site. So ORMC is a completely different beast. I know we'll have 26 ORs running NON-STOP, especially because we are a Trauma-1 site. Now as to how hard we will be worked, there is NO DOUBT in my mind that we're going to have a lack of sleep, but I think that's expected (but ill speak for myself on that). There are a TON of SRNAs that go here too. most are Barry and Wolford. And regardless of which school they come from, they are WORKED HARD! with that said, we are in a DNP program, and we are the first DNP class Barry will have, with all of our courses being online for the first 2 semesters. But even though I talk to the student all the time, and even though they are worked hard, they are generally happy looking?... lol. Either way, they are all nice, extremely knowledgeable and willing to help. ALL I know is that everyone I speak to, regardless of the program, says the same thing; "These will be the worst years of your life... but I cant say its not worth it in the end." So regardless of what we all may have heard, lets just stay strong and wait to learn from our own experiences. I know im coming into the program with a "lets survive the day" mentality.

PS: worse story ive heard from a CRNA so far... "I was kicked out of 8 cases... on my First day." =0 !!!!

I'll be relocating from GA too.

Wow. Thank you for the info. I had seen mixed reviews written in previous threads. However, I also believe each person is going to have an individual experience, and I say we wait and decide for ourselves. I completely agree with you CeeJavy. Thank you for the feedback.

Congrats everyone! I'll be at the Tampa site. Does anyone know how many people will be in that class?

I'm at the Tampa site as well! I'm not sure how many will be there specifically, but I believe there are only 45 total. So there shouldn't be too many.

Thank you for the info, so thorough, and you are absolutely right. Experiences at all these sites are subjective at the end of the day. My mind set is right up there with you, we'll all be suffering but at least we'll be suffering together, and all for a great outcome. See you all early May.

Interviewed and accepted last week. I'll be in the South Florida location. Any one knows anything about the South Fl clinical sites?
