Barry University CRNA 2024 Start

Published

Didn't see anyone post here, so posting to open a discussion since the application cycle is coming up soon!  Any one else applying for Summer of 2024?

Does anyone know what the reference sheet looks like?  I am preparing my application and want to give my references a heads up on if they need to prepare a letter or give examples of my performance or if it's just a checklist.

I've had to do one in the past and I did just a little paragraph. And I believe they asked if you would recommend that person for CRNA school.

Hi everyone!

Was anyone else unable to open the message from (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) in the interview email?

Has anyone applied in the last month?  If so, how long after application did you get an interview request/denial?

Hi everyone!

Was anyone else unable to open the message from the program director in the interview email?

I applied June 15th and got a call for interview last week.

I called and she said it wasn't anything that would affect the interview. Just some info about the interview process. Are you doing yours tomorrow? I'm really nervous. 45 mins seems like a long time to be grilled LOL

Yea I'm interviewing tomorrow and definitely feel you on the nervousness. Just remember having an interview means they like you on paper, now just get them to like you as a person. At least that's what I tell myself.

Does anyone actually know how heavily they weight the GRE? I have my application ready to submit but my quant score falls just 1 point below "competitive"? My writing and verbal are fine however. I attended the information session and they seemed very vague about it. On one session, they preferred you to have in the 30% tile for all, and the next session they said if you fall below this you can make it up elsewhere (like high GPA, experience, etc.). Like they take the whole application into consideration. Anyone know if they actually have a solid GRE requirement? Thank you and good luck to everyone applying!!

From the information session that I attended, they said that you need the GRE done for your application to even be reviewed. You can still be invited for an interview and may be offered a position with the caveat that you will have to retake the GRE again prior to the program start date. The good news is that apparently, you will only have to redo the section you did poorly in. This is what I remember but I would double-check with them.

That being said. I would apply in your shoes.

That's wonderful news! Thank you so much. I could not 100% remember what she said. I sent her an email as well to confirm so I'll share what she said for anyone that needs the info. Thank you!
