Nursing Times:  SKILLS - BARIUM ENEMA   includes patient education and preporation.

Use of  Barium Enema greatly reduced in my Philadelphia PA area, instead CAT SCAN of abdomen  performed.  Biggest issue post barium enema was  colonic perforation (rare), most often constipation requiring oral laxative or saline enema.
