I have noticed that a lot of people have questions about BSHP, so here's a thread to hopefully clarify some things and answer questions that people may have.
Acceptance:
The school typically accepts 80-90 people per semester.
I scored a 71.3% on my teas and had a 4.0 in my pre-reqs.
Uniforms and tuition:
Tuition is $20k, not including books. Books can almost always be bought on amazon for a cheaper price.
They do offer small scholarships.
Uniforms can be bought wherever. The patch must be on the left side. You are allowed to wear a matching scrub jacket as long as the patch is on. You must have black or white shoes.
Sometimes students donate their old scrubs, and you can buy them for $5 in the student services department.
Learning experiences:
The instructors as BSHP truly do care about the students and want everyone to succeed.
If you do your part, they will help you out. Like I said, do your part. If you put in the effort and study time, you will pass.
The clinicals are mostly at baptist hospitals. Yes, you will have nurses that say to your face, "I do not want a student." Don't let that defeat you. There will be other nurses that want to help you learn. For the most part, clinical is an amazing experience.
Let me know if you have any other questions. :)
