Baptist Downtown San Antonio

I am in San Antonio at Baptist downtown. I love the city, but the facility is not so good. I work in the OR.

They allow doctors to do unplanned procedures without the proper consent.

They constantly change what is acceptable for consents, H&P, etc., they keep adding to the paperwork they expect the nurses to fill out and most of it is redundant, tedious, and not even part of the permanent patient record.

They will work you like a dog and leave you stranded in a procedure room, when you finally call out to see if you have any relief coming they will just say they don't have anyone to relieve you, and you will just have to finish the case.

After they have had you work 10-16 hour days early in the week and you get to close to your 40hrs, they send you home early so they don't have to pay you any overtime.

You will be expected to precept new perioperative nurses without preceptor pay. Side note: most of them have no business being in an OR(long story).

My last day was supposed to be yesterday and I find out today that someone in their HR department changed the end date from this week to next week. Even though my I fulfilled the dates on my contract they are holding me to the date that they changed it to(part of another long story). Unfortunately my next contract is at another facility in their network and they said if I don't work this week they will cancel my other contract.

I am very tempted to walk but my company is compensating me for the trouble and frustration.
