I was wondering if anyone knows anything about Good Samatarian Hospital in Phoenix, AZ? I have a job offer and the hospital is willing to give me a 3000 dollar bonus for movinng if I will live in Central Phoenix. I know that there are better places to live in Phoenix besides the Central area, so I was wondring what you might think regarding this? Are there any good apartments or townhomes for a single woman in her 20's to live m herself in the Central area? Or shoud I forgoet the bonus and go for a better area?
And what do you think about this hospital? Is it a good one?

I'm not sure about Good Sam as a hospital... but a friend of mine lives in Central Phoenix in a guest house that was rented out to her (really nice), and she loves it. Everything is close to her, and her neighborhood is a historic district, which has lots of nice homes. I wouldn't live south of I-10 if I were you... I've heard of some bad stuff going on down there.
The thing about central Phoenix is that it's really expensive. Since it's right in the middle of everything, apartment rent is often quite a bit higher than other areas in Phoenix. When we were looking for a place, apartments in the downtown area were about $800/month for a one bedroom. We now live in West Phoenix/Glendale and pay $1000/month for a three bedroom brand new home with a garage and a big backyard.
If you need any other information, PM me.

I've worked for Good Sam and I really liked it. Lots of very nice people but it also depends on which floor you work on. They have 12 floors and then the dungeon. There are several buildings and there are underground tunnels. Sometimes a felt a bit like an ant in the underground tunnels (LOL) but it was a nice hospital.
One down side to Good Sam is regarding begging for supplies. If you run out of IV start kits you can try trading with another floor for something they need, but that doesn't always pan out and sometimes you just have to go swipe it. It isn't just IV start kits, it's anything.
Central Phoenix is okay, it didn't used to be but now it is supposedly *the* place to live. Can't say I agree. I prefer North Central or North Phoenix myself but to each his own.
They do have Rosie the robot from Pharmacy and she's kinda fun. But I haven't worked for Good Sam in about 3-4 years.
Also, both St. Josephs and Phoenix Children's offered me a $3000 sign-on bonus, and they didn't specify where I had to live, so long as I worked there full-time. May be something to check in to.....
