Hi everyone! I am starting this thread for those applying to BC nursing for Spring 2019. Application period runs from June 1st - July 15th. This will be my second time applying.
From the RN page:
"Priority Placement for Veterans
Students will be admitted to the program based on their scholastic eligibility and placement on a nursing assessment test as per SB 1309.
If the program is receiving Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funding, in accordance with the Jobs for Veterans Act (JVA), priority will be given to applicants with proof of military, naval, or air service and discharge under conditions other than dishonorable; students must work with Admissions and Records to determine eligibility.
An eligible spouse or widow(er) will also be extended this priority status."
Hi there, I was recently conditionally accepted for the Spring 2019 RN program, as well as a veteran.
I'm not sure how it exactly works either. I'm assuming if a veteran is eligible they'll put a preference towards to veteran, but I don't know. All I know is from what I have been told, it helps a lot.

Hey Riss44! Congrats on getting in! I'm a veteran as well and I'm hoping to apply next fall and I wondering how exactly does the priority placement work for vets?
