Hey everyone! I've been taking bactrim for 7 days for a lady partsl infection. I have one more pill left. 2 days ago I got into my bed to go to sleep and felt lots of lowerback pain. It was painful not so severe I almost passed out but made me wimper and a pain I've NEVER felt before. I thought I pulled my back at work but I had done nothing for 2 weeks. I was on vacation and now I'm on orientation for the ER and been doing mostly paperwork and video stuff. I looked in my 2006 drug book and saw no SE of lower back pain or even joint pain. My pharmacy paper work does list joint pain as a side effect and says to seek medical attention immediately. So now I'm worried. The pain is better but still there. I have a hard time putting socks on and I helped to transfer a pt in the bed and my lower back was sore. I really thought it was myself then I called the pharmacist who said it's a very common side effect and just drink plenty of water. Is it true it's a common side effect? Would this be considered an allergic reaction? The first line in my paper work from CVS states that the benefits of the drug out weigh the side effects and keep that in mind. I think I have had those sideffects that are masked by other things. I felt warm but I had sunburn, I had sensitivity to light but I had an eye infection, I'm fatigued but I work and stay up very late in early morning and have been working days first time in 3 years!
I'm blabbing. My main question is specifically lower back or joint pain common for those who take bactrim? I've read pt accounts online that despise the medication and state they had back pain from it. However, one pt stated her doctor thought she probably harmed it another way and to not disclude it ended up taking it later and developed worse reactions.
