BACommDisorders
1 Post
I live in California and would like to stay in this state for school and my career.
I received my BA in Communications Disorders from California State University in 1999.
My desire is to enter the nursing field. Are there any online or distance programs where my BA would be useful in fastracking my nursing career degree?
My goal is to work as an RN but I do not know which setting as of yet.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
I am 45 - not sure if that will be a benefit or a hinderance....

I'm not an expert but your best bet is looking for a second degree BSN. Your current BA doesn't really count in anyway towards nursing other than you have done gen eds. Also since you need to do clinicals, you won't find any online/distance programs. I know some schools do a hybrid online program where your clinicals are in the area but the classes are online. Those are for people that live in the area of the school though.
