AZ RN Refresher course

Looking for some advice for RN Refresher courses..... With COVID refresher spots are limited in most programs (if they are even taking students) unless going digital.  Has anyone had experience with MedStar or South Dakota State University's courses?

Starting my clinicals next week with Medstar. Because they only have to find spots for one person at a time, they don't have difficulty setting you up for a clinical. I asked about the sim clinicals, and was told Medstar doesn't do them. It's more for classes of students that need to place several at a time in a clinical environment. Did you start somewhere yet?

Hi! I’m looking for advice on RN refresher courses approved by AZ state board of nursing. There are only a few to choose from and only 1 so far does not require you to find a clinical site. With all the COVID issues,  I am not having any luck even getting a nursing home to agree to clinicals. Many places only want to deal with the school itself. Has anyone taken any of these courses and how did you go about finding a site?  Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I did my refresher with Medstar Academy. Just finished in March. They set up my clinicals for me. They have contracts with several sites. I was placed in a skilled nursing facility. This particular facility has precepted quite a few Medstar students and they have all moved on to jobs when finished. I paid the extra money Medstar costs, because I didn't want to have trouble finding a clinical site on my own. It was worth it to me.

Thanks for the reply. I will look into that as well.
