AVHS HospitalPart 2- What happens when a CNA keeps getting a floor by themselves regularly

Published

I know someone who has been through this so much. It's a female, and she is old. She can't do the things she used to do. And guess what? They give her a floor to herself. They don't care. So guess what? All she does is do vitals and change patients. That's it. She doesn't go out of her way, why? Because she just had enough. Yes, I can confirm that she told me this one night some time ago. What can I say about this? I don't blame her, as I know by now management doesn't care what she has to go through. So, she just does whatever she wants. But, that's also a bad thing too. Why, because patients who need care don't deserve it, but they do. It's getting to a point where most CNAs don't care anymore, and I've seen this trend a lot at the hospital. Baths aren't being done, beds aren't being made up, lien is all over the room, no one is being turned or having their diaper changed, rooms are dirty, ice water isn't being filled, trash aren't being emptied, and I could go on and on. Who are we to not give that care? It''s our job, and we are expected to do it, but now most people don't care.

Do you guys see what we see? Do you guys understand? No, you don't. There's so much that goes on in patient care at the hospital that people are arrogant to even take the time to listen. No one will listen because no one will listen. And no one will listen because no one will listen. Yet people do all these meetings and ask what needs to change. Look right in front of you for once.

This is the last time I'm going to address this issue. Hopefully one day they will see the light. It won't be perfect, as nothing is, but it will be a big step to great quality care.

I know most people won't care and won't even bother to read this. I just wanted to share my points And as long as they don't care, patient care is only going to get worse. Oh well....

Man I feel your frustration and it's so true. I've seen it where the tech is the only tech for 24 patients,. There is no way they can do everything with that many patients..
