Is it really less than $40K/year? Anyone who was recently hired, please let me know!
THANKS!

$20-21 an hour at a hospital. Shift diff varies.
Thanks for the reply - my husband and I are trying to plan when to move once I graduate and we live in NY so the pay scale is way different for new grads. I have a feeling we're going to be stuck here as apt dwellers for awhile longer!!
cost of living is not as high as NY. You can get an apt for 700-1000 a month. Thats a spacious 2-3 bedroom apt.
Yeah, that's the "rub" we have saved a bunch for a down payment on a house so we could probably end up with a mortgage of about $700/month down in NC. In NY the houses are double the price and the taxes alone are at least $700/month (we live on Long Island and the taxes on most houses are at least $10K/year...ouch!). The hardest part is that we are assuming that I will be the only income initially because hubby does video editing and jobs outside of NY are sparce. I guess it comes down to weighing all the options like cost of living, and even more importantly QUALITY OF LIFE! I always tell him $$ isn't everything, but I also don't want us to struggle financially. I told him today that I wish I would have discovered my "calling" to be a nurse at 25 instead of 35!
