Hi, I sent in my application to AHPRA December 2010 and still not assessed or registered, we are nearing the 11 month mark and all I get is generic e mails telling me that they will let me know. On the otherhand, my ANMC deadline is on the doorstep and still I don't hear much. In May this year I had to resubmit some of the documentation already sent and after that haven't heard anything, just that they are extremely busy.
Good Luck to you too!!
By the way, I am from South Africa. Thought it would be easier for nurses from other countries......
I think there is something wrong with your application. Have you tried giving them a follow up call or e-mail. the usual time processing (depends what state) is 2-3 months. there is a thread that discusses application for overseas nurses in Australia and new zealand,Better post your concerns in this thread;

Hello I am also a Canadian RN looking to apply for a Australian registration. I went to Australia and completed 2 years of the nursing program then returned to Canada and completed 2 more years of university.
My question is when you apply do I need to just send transcripts or does the nursing board require course outlines for assessment?
Do they require information on the skills you completed during practicum or are hours all they want?
Can I apply with only 2 years work experience as a Registered Nurse?
Hope someone can help

I am just curious if any nurses have obtained Australian registration from overeas, and if so, how long did it take to get?
I sent my application in the last week of October 2010,from Canada, and I have not obtained it yet. When I email the AHPRA they send me a generic email saying that "I will be notified my mail if there are any issues during the registration process" and when I phoned, I was told they could not give me a timeline of how long I can expect it to take. its been over 4 months, Im hoping I wont have to wait much longer
Thanks
