Australian Nursing in Hawaii

I'm just after some shared experience about nurses from Australia who have successfully transitioned into nursing in the USA. From what I have read we fall in paeds experience. I did more than half of my clinical hours in paeds and did a paeds specialty unit whilst I was doing my degree, does anyone think this will make a difference? 

I have completed my new graduate in mental health, I'm trying to wrap my head around the different models of care in the USA and the priorities of intervention/deterioration. Can anyone point me in the right direction/give me some hope! it's so overwhelming.  Also what is mental health (Psychiatric ) nursing like in the USA, what does that model look like??
